PART-TIME AFTER SCHOOL COUNSELOR

We’re currently seeking a dynamic and professional After School Counselor to join our team at Play Kids Greenpoint!

Candidates should be enthusiastic, caring, highly motivated, and have a genuine concern for children.

 

As a counselor, you will ensure that after school students follow their schedule, participate in activities, and support their personal growth. You'll also provide assistance as needed for all daily activities.

College students are welcome - we can accommodate school schedules.

Previous experience working with children aged 4-8 years old, as well as knowledge of the French language, is a plus.

 

An ideal counselor must be at least 18 years old, participate enthusiastically in activities, be easygoing with children, and have skills in sports, science, arts & crafts, improv play, as well as help with clean-up, drop-off, and pick-up. Being part of our after-school team means working closely with other counselors and supervisors, so teamwork is key.

 

Requirements:

• Commitment to at least one school semester

• Enjoy working with children

• Patient and compassionate with children and team members

• Desire to learn and grow

• Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy

• Friendly, hardworking, with a positive attitude

• Creative and adaptable

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills in English

• Must live within a 30-minute commuting distance

• Excellent improv skills

• Associate degree or at least 2 years of experience in childcare, camps, or schools

• Previous experience working with children ages 4-8 years old

• Keen interest in sports

• Fascinating storytelling abilities
